3D Scanning

Scan3D provides an easy and versatile means of scanning a 3D object at high resolution.

Used with an XYZ machine, it scans the upper surface of any object by driving the machine in a grid pattern, reading the object’s height at regular sampling intervals. Scan3D consists of a laser sensor, interface hardware and software that operate
on an IBM PC compatible within the MS Windows environment.

Scan3D can be provided in OEM format or already integrated with an appropriate XYZ table as a turnkey solution. It can also be integrated with a range of Axiomatic’s imaging products for various industrial automation and inspection applications.

Example Application:

Scan3D is capable of producing an extremely accurate 3D image of objects.
The images to the left present pictures of a very fragile piece of decorative period plasterwork, a very high resolution scan of the object in Scan3D and a grey-scale image produced from the point cloud.
